Shooting 007: And Other Celluloid Adventures - the memoirs of Alec Mills, a long-time member of the 'Bond family', will be published in July 2014 by The History Press in the UK. The foreword will be written by Alec's long-time friend and film colleague, Sir Roger Moore.

Mills also looks back on a career that took in Return of the Jedi on film and The Saint on television with wit and affection, and Shooting 007 contains many of his and Eon Productions’ unpublished behind-the-scenes photographs compiled over a lifetime of filmmaking.

About Alec Mills:
Alec's film career began in the mid 1950s as a camera assistant, moving through the ranks to clapper loader, focus puller and - on the TV series
The Saint - became camera operator.
In the latter role, Alec worked on a number of films including six of the Bonds -
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969),
The Spy Who Loved Me (1977),
Moonraker (1979) (1979),
For Your Eyes Only (1981),
Octopussy (1983) (1983) and
A View to a Kill (1985) - and two other films starring Roger Moore,
Gold (1974) and
Shout at the Devil (1976).
In 1987, Mills was offered the chance to become Director of Photography on
The Living Daylights, a position he also held on his last Bond film,
Licence to Kill (1989).
Apart from the Bond family, Mills is also a member of the 'Star Wars family' after his work on
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (directed by Richard Marquand) in 1983.
Besides the Bonds, Alec worked on two other films with his 'Bond director'
John Glen,
Christopher Columbus: The Discovery (1992) and
The Point Men (2001).
In the 1990s he directed two Australian films,
Bloodmoon (1990) and
Dead Sleep (1992).
