Art director for three Bond films / Production Designer for nine Bond films
I have been fortunate to meet Peter Lamont, a veteran of the James Bond movies and associated with 18 films in the series, at several occasions over the years at Pinewood Studios.
Peter began his association with the franchise on
Goldfinger (1964) (1964) as a draftsman and has worked on every Bond film since (with the exception of
Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) when he was unavailable because of his work on Titanic).
Working his way up through the ranks, Lamont’s first film as production designer on Bond was
For Your Eyes Only (1981), and he continued in that capacity until
Casino Royale (2006).
Lamont won an Oscar® for his work on
Titanic, received an Oscar® nomination for Best Art Direction for
The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) and was also honored with a nomination for
Fiddler on the Roof and
Aliens, for which he also received a BAFTA nomination.
Other film credits include
Sleuth,
The Dove,
The Seven-Per-Cent Solution,
The Boys from Brazil,
Sphinx,
Consuming Passions,
Eve of Destruction,
The Taking of Beverly Hills,
True Lies and
Wing Commander.
Check out Peter's
IMDB profile for more information about his amazing career in the film business.
