Fan Festival is proud to announce a lifetime achievement award by
Cinema Retro Magazine to
Sir Christopher Lee to be held in the Debating Chamber at the London Film Museum, County Hall as part of the Fan Festival Weekend on 24th and 25th April.
In a career spanning over five decades of acting, singing and adding his voice to nearly 300 films and television performances, Christopher Lee has become one of Britains most endearing actors.
Christopher Lee has lead a most interesting life, from his work in intelligence during World War 2, to becoming one of the most feared characters in British cinema. He made cinema history by playing three different Sherlock Holmes characters, including the eponymous detective, as well as being one of the best remembered James Bond villains, a fearsome member of the Sith, a regular in Tim Burton's films, and the sorcerer Saruman in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. He also released a single of one of his favourite songs "Wandrin' Star".
Sir Christopher Lee will receive Cinema Retro magazine's Lifetime Achievement award followed by a very rare chance to see the great actor being interviewed on stage by publisher Lee Pfeiffer - exclusively at The London Film Museum.
Due to last-minute contractual obligations, Sir Christopher Lee is regrettably unable to personally accept the Cinema Retro lifetime achievement award that was to be presented to him at the London Film Museum on Saturday April 24th. However, his life-long friend – and on-screen adversary in The Man With The Golden Gun – Sir Roger Moore, has graciously agreed to accept the award on the veteran actor’s behalf. Sir Roger has also agreed to discuss his career as James Bond on stage, and take part in a brief Q&A session. Sir Roger was the recipient of Cinema Retro’s lifetime achievement award in 2008. Anyone who has already purchased a ticket for the Christopher Lee presentation is automatically entitled to attend this event. However, those who do not wish to attend can have their ticket refunded.
