Chasing Jaws in the search for Fekkesh

Visiting Egypt is an awe inspiring activity.

It is simply amazing to see what these ancient cultures were able to do, and perhaps most of all, with their patience. They could build on their temples for thousands of years! Civilisations of today can hardly motivate people to build on houses for more than a couple of years.

The Karnak temple (where Sir Roger Moore, Richard Kiel and Barbara Bach filmed some of their Bond scenes in THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, inside info for those non-that-passionate-James Bond fans like Anders) is placed in central Luxor, in an urban area.

There are a couple of things that’s notable about the temple. One is the fact that there is only one pillar at the entrance. This is because the president of Egypt decided to give one of them to France, in exchange for a big clock. The clock never worked, while the pillar will be magnificent for thousands of years to come. Not that a great trade.

Another thing I find fascinating is the fact that they still find relics at the temple. Just a couple of years ago they found a new, hidden, treasure in the middle of the temple.

Egypt is truly an awesome site to visit!
