James Bond film actors and behind the scenes crew

This section of FSWL is kind of personal as it features photos and stories from meeting and talking to the people who have contributed to the success of the James Bond 007 phenomenon. In most cases very friendly and down-to-earth people. Currently 263 names listed.

The list consist of actors, actresses, assistant directors, camera operators, cinematographers, composers, costume designers, directors, editors, executive producers, location managers, lyrics writers, marketing executives, music artists, production assistants, production controllers, production designers, production managers, production secretaries, publicists, script supervisors, screenwriters, special effects wizards, stunt coordinators and several stuntmen.

The section also includes meetings with official James Bond authors.

GEORGE LAZENBY
James Bond in ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE 1969

George Lazenby is a professional guy but I sense a bit of his disappointment of being a bit tough leading him away from Bond after only one film. I am sure he regret listening to his his agent who said the Bond phenomenon wouldn't last and advised him to leave the franchise.

When I saw him for the first time at Autographica in Northampton the queue of waiting fans was enormous but he gently signed photos for everyone.

I also had the privilege of seeing him at the Royal premiere of Die Another Day (2002) and also as a surprise guest introducing the women at "An evening with the Bond women", both times in London. This was most rewarding for those lucky people who obtained a ticket to a very successful event arranged by Sir Roger Moore's PA, Gareth Owen.

The last time I had the privilege to meet Lazenby was at Pinewood Studios during the celebration of him as James Bond on June 11th 2005. Like previous meetings he made many Bond fans happy by appearing in person.

Among things he revealed was that he and his wife Pam Shriver (a former world no 1 in tennis) were expecting twins that November. I asked him about his current handicap in golf as he, like Sir Sean, has a worm for this sport. George said it was currently at 8.
On the day he personally introduced the special screening of On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) at Pinewood Studios Theatre 7 which made it a very special and memorable for everyone that was there.

Now a family father he never seem to forget his memories from Bond. He has always been very patient and kind to Bond fans conventions he attends.

Thanks George and all the best to you and the family, good luck with the golf as well!
