Swedish Radio profile Kerstin Berggren converses with guests active in theatre, opera, music, literature and film in a new podcast series, Spotlight, from Swedish National Radio. Among people interviewed are three of the Swedes who have worked on the Bond films - Prosthetic Makeup Designer Love Larson, Supervising Sound Editor Per Hallberg (who attended FSWL's James Bond festival in Stockholm last year) and actress Maud Adams.

Click on the names below to listen to Kerstin's interviews:

• Love Larson (48 minutes, published 25th March)
He has given James Bond hearty wounds and made lacerated faces for Äkta människor (2012-2014). Blood and damaged bodies are normal routines for make-up artist Love Larson, who also turned Robert Gustafsson into a 100-year-old man.

Love Larson worked with David Fincher on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) and with Sam Mendes on the James Bond film Skyfall (2012) in 2012, both films starring Daniel Craig. Together with his partner, Eva von Bahr, he has worked on more than sixty feature films, fifteen television series and several hundred commercials.

Love Larson is a theatre child from Umeå in the Northern part of Sweden. Early on, he saw how actors could transform themselves and how the theatre creates its own world. His main interest was to make figures inspired by Star Wars and Aliens, to sit at home and experiment with wounds and latex. The interest for illusion grew and after graduation from the Dramatic Institute's make-up artist programme, he began to work in theatres and then in film and television.

• Per Hallberg (52 minutes, published 29th April)
Together with Ingrid Bergman he tops the Swedish Academy Award® league with three statuettes. Right now the Swedish sound maestro polishes the final details on the upcoming blockbuster San Andreas (for theatrical release on May 29th). Then it's time for the next Bond film, SPECTRE (theatrical release on November 6).

Per Hallberg is the first in line when Spotlight goes Hollywood in a number of episodes to come. Kerstin Berggren visited the big Warner Brothers studio in Hollywood to learn more about what it means to be a sound design editor. It turned out that the vast mixing console in the studio contains 3000 channels and Per Hallberg and his colleagues are responsible for all sound except the music - i.e. dialogue, background noise, atmospheres, sound effects and more. Merit list includes more than 70 films and he got his three Academy Awards for Skyfall, The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) and Braveheart (1995).

Per Hallberg basically worked on all of Ridley Scott's films for 10 years and he tells the spotlight how different directors are working. Some want to be with all the time, while others have a completely different way of working. One of his favourites is Swedish director Daniel Espinosa, that he, among other things, made Safe House (2012) with, as well as Child 44, now at cinema.

• Maud Adams (32 minutes, published 6th May)
She is the only woman who has starred in two Bond films, The Man With The Golden Gun (1974) and Octopussy (1983) (1983). Actress Maud Adams has done lots of roles in film and television over the years and seen up close how the film industry has changed.

Kerstin Berggren visited her at home in Beverly Hills to hear more about life in the dream factory. Maud Adams was a famous fashion model when she was handpicked in 1970 to star in the film The Christian Licorice Store. It was during the time when Easy Rider had turned the whole industry upside down - suddenly a cheap film could become a huge blockbuster.

Being a female actor in Hollywood has its effects. Competition is very large, it comes down to always being available, to start a family and have children are not always obvious.
