Bondmaker
Ian Fleming: Bondmaker (Swedish title: Bondmannen Ian Fleming) is broadcast on Viasat History at 9:00pm.

Ian Fleming: Bondmaker tells the extraordinary true life story of Ian Fleming; the creator of James Bond, one of the great icons of 20th century culture. The film takes a bold and innovative approach to dramatising the story of the author’s life, by using Fleming’s own words. Shot on location in the UK and Jamaica, the film explores the relationship between Ian Fleming’s life and the legend that is James Bond.

Award-winning actor Ben Daniels (Cutting It, Conspiracy) brings the author to life. The film also stars Emily Woof (The League of Gentleman’s Apocalypse, School for Seduction, The Full Monty) as Ian’s wife, Ann, and Pip Torrens (The Government Inspector, The Rotters Club) as Ian’s close friend and Jamaican neighbour, Noel Coward.

Review: (by Anders Frejdh originally written on behalf of Viasat History)

"The film is well worth seeing and a very thorough and detailed description about James Bond's creator Ian Fleming, a genuinely interesting look is given about the man's multi-faced life. It is made in a clever way with real-life quotes from the man himself mixed quotes from his incredibly successful Bond novels. The background for the novel series comes thru in a nice pace but it's impossible to neglect the strange but fascinating life Fleming lived. How the marriage to his biggest love was adventured by the writings and success with James Bond.

The piece is filmed in both Fleming's privately built summer house in Jamaica, named Goldeneye, and also in London which gives a sense of both pleasure and obligation. If anyone ever wonders if Fleming ever had plans to kill James Bond you will get to know it here."
