Jesper Christensen Mr White
A celebration of the respected and much loved Danish actor Jesper Christensen, member of the 'James Bond family' since 2006.

With this special page, From Sweden with Love would like to celebrate Jesper Christensen on his birthday which he shares with four-time James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan.

"Kära Jesper, grattis på födelsedagen och lycka till framöver."

About Jesper Christensen: (by Anders Frejdh)
Born 1948 in Copenhagen. Lived there ever since. Did 25 years of theatre - like Alceste in the Misanthropist, Richard in Richard lll (solo), Faust in Faust, Astrov in Vanja, a lot of worried men - stopped doing it in 1998. Since then only worried men on film. "I love men. We're so stupid."

Jesper has worked on more than 100 films with direction from Per Fly (in Arvet and Dråpet), Marc Forster (Bond), John Madden (in The Debt), Lone Scherfig, Sydney Pollack (in The Interpreter), Martin Campbell (Bond), Pernille Fischer Christensen (in En familie), Lars von Trier (in Melancholia and Nymphomaniac), among others.

In 2009, Jesper won the Swedish Guldbagge Award for Best Supporting Actor in Maria Larssons eviga ögonblick directed by Swedish director Jan Troell.

In his native country he has been nominated for the Bodil Award as Best Actor four times and gone home with the price three times.

Jesper Christensen will make a much anticipated return as Mr White in SPECTRE (2015) directed by Sam Mendes after previously having appeared in Casino Royale (2006) and Quantum of Solace (2008) in the same role.

Stunt coordinator Gary Powell on Jesper's return, "He brings a great Character to the film, good having him back."

Since 2000 he lives with Tove Bornhoeft, a wonderful Danish theatre manager, director & actress. He has two grown up daughters. No animals. Dogs, pigs, chickens, cats, birds, horses, fish, rabbits,- all gone now. Apart from Danish, he's fluent in German and English as well as familiar with French and Italian.

Editor's note:
Other Danish actors in the James Bond films include Mads Mikkelsen (Le Chiffre in Casino Royale), Ulrich Thomsen (Davidov in The World Is Not Enough) and Cecilie Thomsen (Professor Inga Bergstrom in Tomorrow Never Dies).

For more about the Danish James Bond connections we highly recommend our friend Jacob Wendt Jensen's book on the subject, Agent 007 - de danske forbindelser.
