New James Bond author Jeffery Deaver to star in 007-inspired Emirates Lit Fest Event in Dubai.

The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairman of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture).

Book lovers and James Bond fans have a treat in store next month: following his popular appearance at the 2010 Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, best-selling thriller writer Jeffery Deaver will be returning to Dubai on Tuesday 18th January 2011, for a Bond-inspired Emirates Lit Fest event. Emirates Airline Festival of Literature is supported by Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, the Emirate’s dedicated authority to promote and foster culture, heritage and art.

Jeffery Deaver is the author of the new, eagerly-anticipated James Bond novel, which is due to be published on May 26th, 2011. The book, which has been commissioned by the Ian Fleming Estate, is currently known simply as Project X and its plot is a closely guarded secret. January’s Emirates Litfest event will be Deaver’s first public appearance as a James Bond author, where he will discuss his love of all things Bond. The audience will be among the first to hear a little bit about his new book, Project X. He has already revealed that it is set in the present day and takes place in a number of exotic locations around the world.

Deaver has written 26 novels and sold more than 20 million books worldwide, topping the charts on both sides of the Atlantic. He is best known for his Kathryn Dance and Lincoln Rhyme books, most notably The Bone Collector, which was adapted for film in 1999, starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie.

Magrudy’s, the official bookshop of Emirates Lit Fest, will be selling copies of Deaver’s books at the January event, as well as previous Bond novels and biographies of a number of Bond actors, and Ian Fleming, the creator of the Bond character. Following his event, Deaver fans will have the opportunity to meet the author at a signing session. As his new James Bond book will not be available until May, Deaver has agreed to sign special book plates which can be inserted into the novel when it is released.

"For book lovers, Bond fans and anyone who can’t wait until the start of the 2011 Emirates Airline Festival in March, Jeffery Deaver’s return to Dubai should not missed", said Isobel Abulhoul, Festival Director, Emirates Airline Festival of Literature. "His 2010 Emirates Lit Fest event was one of the most popular with festival-goers and I know his Bond evening will be another festival highlight."

"I’m quite excited about returning to Dubai to take part in this James Bond-inspired Emirates Lit Fest event," said Jeffery Deaver. "During my last trip, I found Dubai to be a truly inspirational city--a place of awe-inspiring sights, fascinating cultures and remarkable people."

Lucy Hale, Sales & Marketing Director, Hodder & Stoughton, comments, "Hodder's authors have always enjoyed their visits to Dubai and we've had some great events with the Emirates Airline Festival. We're very excited about the publication of Project X and thrilled that they are putting on this special evening for Jeffery Deaver."

Jeffery Deaver’s Bond evening will take place at the stunning 900-seat theatre at Al Mamzar, known as the Dubai Cultural and Scientific Association. Tickets will be priced at 70dhs for the stalls and 30dhs for the balcony and can be purchased online from from 3rd January 2011.

Project X by Jeffery Deaver will be published on 26th May 2011 by Hodder & Stoughton in the UK and by Simon & Schuster in the US.
